Production Log- Mise En scene

Guitar
Chair
Microphone
Why are they being used?
These are the props that I have used throughout my music magazine, props are important because they help make the effect of someone performing for example more real if there is a microphone in front of them, as when people are performing they typically perform in front of a microphone. Props also provide a sense of quality and professionalism to the magazine to make the audience believe this is a true magazine with a large budget to spend on items that take up minimal space.

Example:
This image of my friend playing a guitar ( left) from my contents page looks a lot better with the use of the guitar and chair as props when compared to without as without them he is pretending to play a guitar and the audience may not recognise this, my having a guitar it makes the concept more realistic rather than making the audience find out for themselves what the signs and symbols mean.

Actors
The actors I am choosing have been picked from a selection of many people, the actors listed below are the actors that I am using within my Music magazine. The actors I have chosen have to have a certain look as tedious as that sounds that's one of the key features of a magazine especially when its needed to fit in the concept or design of a music magazine otherwise it wouldn't work and the artist featured would look out of place, so certain artists need to be fitted with certain styles in order to both compliment the artist and to also compliment the magazine.
Scott Jenkinson- James Stevens
Graeme McCullough- Mystery Artist
Seamus Brennan- Guitar Tips Photo
Stand ins if needed
Jack Hughes
Steven Brazier
Anthony Hill

Risk Assessment
Risks
The microphone is a hazard as it has a lot of sharp corners which if someone trips over and falls on top of them could cause an injury, also the legs on the microphone are very wide so these could cause a person to fall. The solution to this is to make sure we walk slowly around the magazine and other areas of the set, as to also apply highlighted tap to each leg of the microphone stand in order to let people visually be aware of them

Hazards
The guitar is a hazard due to it weighing a significant amount of weight if dropped from a height it could injure someone, also if the guitar breaks it costs a lot of money, which we could not fund or afford so this is another hazard we need to be aware of a solution of this is to wear a strap we can obtain from the music technicians as these will limit the likelihood of the guitar coming loose from a persons hands

The camera, expensive and would result in death by media teachers if it was lost or broken, a solution to this is to wear the strap provided so we can always be aware of where the camera is and this way it cannot be lost and as long we take care of the camera around our neck it will also be maintained
The chair, the hazard of every school classroom, by identifying this as a hazard we can inform the people using them not to swing or to move them as they could break it or fall off
The setting could be a hazard due to the floor being slippery, via wet or with litter being on the ground, a solution to this is to inspect the surroundings first and if any water is found we can either clean it ourselves or contact a technician or cleaner if possible
Common sense is also a very important factor in all of these as if people start messing around and acting stupid then they could cause a hazard for everyone else and themselves.
