Music Magazine Questionnaire results
These results show me that from the people who took the questionnaire, the majority were male as 60% of who answered said they were male. Most people fit into the age category of 16-20 as a total of 40% said they were this age. One interesting result from this questionnaire was that 60% of people prefer to read magazines in physical form rather than on-line via computer or on their mobile phone, this result was not what I was expecting but close behind the physical form was tablets (such as Ipads) with 40% showing that they are right being physical magazines in terms of popularity. Most people spend between £4-£6 per week on a music magazine this shows me that most people only purchase one music magazine per week as this is the average cost of a music magazine. When asked about the most important thing in a magazine, a lot of people said that the information to be true and exciting rather than boring is a major issue as well as making things different and taking chances with the magazine.
The results of the most popular music magazine were split as the same amount of people chose NME, Q and The Rolling Stone as their favourite music magazine, which is not what I was expecting as The Rolling Stone is the biggest selling music magazine in England I predicted that it would gain the most results. The majority of people's favourite genre is Indie, which is interesting as The Rolling Stone, Q and NME revolve around the genre of rock and roll and not Indie. From the results it was clear that the thing that most people look forward to in a music magazine in the interviews, this may be because they are always different and unpredictable. Most people would change the price of the magazine to lower it, this is usual as people are more likely to be happy with something they have bought if they pay a lower price for it. Also, people do not think that music magazines will become extinct soon, the majority believe they will last for a long time until it reaches a point where it cant compete with technology.
The majority of people who took this questionnaire have either been reading magazines for zero to one year or Four to Five years this shows that people have been reading music magazines for long periods of time and others have only just started which shows that more people have only just become customers meaning more profit and a larger fan base that could continue expanding.
